Newest Photos : 6-09 Minnesota has about 47 species of native orchids. Every summer I spend considerable amount of time pursuing these delicate flowers. Over the years I have been able to capture over half of our native orchids. I made my first trip of this year to Jay Cooke St. Pk. to photograph these large yellow lady's slippers. (Cypripedium calceolus) 6-17-09 After all of these years of being a Minnesota resident, Moose have been avoiding my lenses. But this June my wife and I were canoeing the BWCAW (Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness) and we happened to come across this cow and calf. Paddling very slowly and cautious she allowed us to approach and I was able to take many images of her and the calf.
